The South Australian Youth Arts Board oversees the Dame Ruby Litchfield, Ruth Tuck, Independent Arts Foundation and Colin Thiele Literature Scholarships programs which are administered by the Carclew Youth Arts Centre.

  • Applications are called for once a year and close on April 26, 2002 for scholarships to be taken up in the following year.
  • Applicants are to be 26 years of age or under at the closing date for applications.

     

  • Dame Ruby Litchfield Scholarship
    Established by the South Australian Government in 1994, the scholarship is offered annually to assist young South Australians to further their professional development and training in the performing arts, including music. The scholarship has been created to honour Dame Ruby's lifelong commitment to ensuring young people's participation in the arts.

    Ruth Tuck Scholarship
    Created to honour Ms Tuck's work as a painter and teacher of distinction, the scholarship is to assist young South Australians to further their professional development and training in the visual arts and design. Established by the South Australian Government in 1994, the scholarship is offered annually.

    The Independent Arts Foundation Literature Scholarship and the Colin Thiele Literature Scholarships

    Established in 1996, the scholarships are offered annually to assist young South Australian writers to further their professional development and training.

    The Independent Arts Foundation Literature Scholarship has been provided by the Independent Arts Foundation, which was formed in 1992 to provide independent funding to disadvantaged South Australian arts groups and individuals. The Colin Thiele Literature Scholarship has been established by the State Government.
