Objectives:
  • to support the pursuit of excellence for youth arts companies and organisations by providing financial stability to enable them to:
    • produce a program of innovative and high-quality work on an annual basis
    • develop a strong management base
    • develop strategic alliances with other organisations with a view to ensuring ongoing viability.

Eligibility:

  • The organisation must have received, in the past, either Program or Project and Development Funding from SAYAB.
  • The organisation must be an incorporated body.
  • The organisation must be an established arts organisation presenting work for or by young people.

Timeframe:

  • Program proposals will normally be for twelve months duration.
  • Funding will be provided on an annual basis and will be continued, subject to successful annual review and the availability of Government funding.
  • Applications are called for once a year in December for activity in the following financial year.
Assessment Criteria :
  • Have the artistic objectives of the program been clearly identified?
  • Has the rationale for the program been clearly communicated?
  • Does the application demonstrate the participation and support of the wider community?
  • Is there evidence in the application of adequate planning and organisation/capacity to carry out the program?
  • Does the program provide opportunities for access/participation by disadvantaged groups and individuals?
  • Will the program stimulate audiences/participants through interesting and innovative themes and techniques?
  • Has the organisation consistently demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of high standards of artistic achievement and management performance?
  • Is the annual program designed to involve young people as artists or target young people as an audience?
  • Is there a demonstrated need for financial assistance from SAYAB?
  • Has the organisaiton been successful in attracting funds for the proposed program from other sources and strategic alliances? (eg. Australia Council, private sponsorship).

Recipients of Program Grants will enter into a Performance Agreement with the South Australian Youth Arts Board.
