Since its establishment in 1985, Cirkidz has grown significantly
and remains an important national training ground for young people's
physical expression. It gives young people from all backgrounds
the opportunity to do amazing and seemingly impossible feats.
For
young people who become involved, the circus provides an important
social role, a place where they are safe to express their views
and feel respected.
Cirkidz
exists to improve the self esteem, confidence and coordination
skills of young people from all backgrounds, especially those
young people disadvantaged by economic or social circumstances.
Also to celebrate young people's risk taking, inventiveness, flexibility
and physical strength through productions to schools and the wider
community.
