• Clancy Sullivan – funded $4035
To undertake a dance mentorship and rehersals with Australian Dance Theatre artistic director Garry Stewart for the new work Worldhood which will premier in Adelaide in August.
• Ausdance SA – funded $5500
To assist in the creative development of ‘The First Time 1...’ a part of the Fresh Bred dance program for young dancers.
• Jesse Scales – funded $3526
To undertake an intense professional development training opportunity at the Nederland’s Dans Theatre Company in Holland, overseen by an international artistic team.
• Makoto Koji – funded $5984
To undertake a mentorship to assist with the pre-production of the short animated film ‘Rose Garden.’
• Dylan Amor – funded $3190
To assist with the touring of this young original punk rock band Stomp the Dog to the eastern states of Australia for exposure and to expand their audience and fan base after the release of their debut EP launched at the Northern Sound System in 2010.
• Thomas Phillips – funded $4912
To assist in the recording and production of a 4 song CD to assist with promotion.
• Eilis Frawley – funded $4620
To undertake a percussion mentorship with Eugene Ughetti – one of Australia’s leading contemporary percussionists in Melbourne.
• Recitals Australia Inc. – funded $3000
To assist with the hosting of a two day piano extravaganza of performances, interaction and vocational opportunities for 60+ young South Australian students as part of the Yamaha Recitals Australia Showcase in October 2011.
• Ben Mylius – funded $3000
To undertake a mentorship with Steve Evans an international literary editor to assist in the development of the novel ‘The Momentary’ to a publishable standard.
• Alysha Herrmann – funded $6000
To assist in the creative development of the PressureLands Project – Stage 3.
• Josephine Were – funded $3146
To assist with a physical theatre professional development opportunity specialising in clowning at Ecole Phillippee Gaulier in France, the world famous international theatre school.
• Alice Blanch – funded $700
Towards a professional development opportunity in tintype photography at Gold Street Studios in Victoria one of the only places offering alternative photography courses in Australia.
• Ruby Chew – funded $1425
To develop a first body of work after graduating, leading to first solo visual arts exhibition at Magazine Gallery in Adelaide for the SALA Festival 2011.
• Alex Bishop-Thorpe – funded $940
To undertake professional development in copper plate photogravure photography at Hill End Press in New South Wales, a printmaking studio specializing in photogravure and letterpress printmaking.
Carclew Youth Arts offers two Project and Development funding rounds each year. Applications for the next round for activity occuring January – June 2012, will close 5pm 15 September 2011.
